Although this book was written in 2013 it reads like one of the old post-WW2 Penguin paperbacks, with leisurely and idyllic descriptions of the English countryside and the bewildered impressions of children whose lives are no longer familiar and comforting. Wolfie and his older sister Dodo are sent out of London to North Devon, to the small-minded Mrs. Sprig.
