Ilustration During Books Listed: Volume VI (Listed #6)

This is Volume VI of a six-volume serial novel.

A marriage of convenience has never been like this.

Just before her eighteenth birthday, the doctors tell Emily she has three months to live. Not much time to complete the bucket list she's had since she was twelve. The first item is the hardest--"Get married"--so she turns to the only man she knows who can help.

Paul, a barely reformed bad boy, has inherited a fortune from his mother, but his life is defined by his conflicted relationship with his father--a white-collar, organized-crime boss who, thanks to Paul, is being brought up on federal charges. Without Emily's testimony, his father might walk, so Paul agrees to her unconventional proposal. He'll be her husband for her last three months.

They agree that she'll testify against his father and he'll help her complete her bucket list. It's not supposed to be a true marriage. No consummation. No future. No love.

No love.

She's supposed to die, after all, and love might not be enough.

Judgment Of Books Listed: Volume VI (Listed #6)
I'd give the series overall (six serialized volumes) 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the story. It was predictable and a little formulaic, but I liked it enough to buy the last three parts after getting the first three for free. I liked the transformation of Paul's character from aimless rich kid to decent gentleman. The scenes with him taking care of Emily in her sickest days were the best for me. I wondered if this was going to go the way of A Walk to Remember. It doesn't. HEA.

I was satisfied with the ending. Way too short though.

I absolutely loved this story. It was beautiful and heartbreaking and so full of love. I had read a review before reading this that the characters were too mature for their age, but I think given the situation they were forced to grow up and I thought they were perfect. It was actually very refreshing for me to finally see adults acting like adults in a story.

This was a well written series of books which kept me thoroughly entertained. I liked both main characters, shared their joys and pain and felt like I got to know them. The story idea was unique, and I especially enjoyed that the characters were so young, I enjoyed watching them mature and grow in love. A very sweet and intense love story. I don't understand why the books needed to be written this way rather than one novel, but that didn't detract from the enjoyment of reading them. I will

If someone would have told me I'd love this story so much, I wouldn't have believed them. But I do and there's nothing to do about it. What a tragic love story. I can't believe it's done. Can we get another one? There should've been a warning on these books: Read with caution, you may end up crying your eyeballs out. I fell in love with Paul during Emily's first fever. I fell deeper when he said he loved her and tried to look for a cure. I was sad and happy this was the end. You'll be missing

This came recommended when I was looking for books where the Hero takes care of the Heroine. My review is for the whole series. I usually don't like 3rd person books and haven't read very many but this one wasn't bad. I adored Paul but Emily was just ok for me. There were parts that felt a bit rushed and I found myself skimming a bit but overall it wasn't bad and it was exactly what I was looking for in my request. Paul was such a sweet caretaker and I enjoyed their progression into a real

Loved this series!! Each book was short and sweet while drawing me in to want more. Paul was my hero from the start and made each book better with his love and devotion for Emily. Perfect romance story!!Paul [image error] Emily [image error]
