Two girls divided by time, united by their love for some very special horses – an epic Caribbean adventure!

On a remote tropical island, twelve year-old Beatriz is about to embark on an epic journey, through hurricanes and across the high seas and back to the time of Christopher Columbus…

When Beatriz stumbles across a wild mare with strange markings in the jungle she can’t believe it is real. Yet from that moment on the strongest connection grows between them, and she begins to uncover an incredible history. For centuries ago, Felipa and her horse, Cara Blanca, were running for their lives.

As the fates of Beatriz, Felipa and their horses become entwined, Beatriz realises that the future of the world’s rarest horses depends on her.

Based on the extraordinary true story of the Abaco Barb, a real-life mystery that has remained unsolved for over five hundred years.

Gregg gets better each time I readSuch an amazing book with the contrast of them and now and finding the similarities between the two tails is definitely the work of a great author

I read this book because I found it in the library and I enjoy reading Stacy Gregg books.I liked how this book kept going from what's in the diary 100's of years ago to the time that the girl was reading the diary. I enjoyed listening about the island of lost horses and how they got there, on Christofer Columbus's 1st voyage to America. This book told a lot about history and how something so smile like a pack of horses on an island can bring two completely different times together.I thought that

My youngest granddaughter loves horses so I'm continuing to read Stacy Gregg's books (though not the Pony Club ones, as I doubt she'll ever be involved with horses in that way). This children's novel is based on an island in the Bahamas where a herd of wild horses used to live. I say 'used to' because human encroachment has killed them all off from the 1960s (see this link), the last one dying in 2015 despite huge efforts to save the bloodline. The book, however, is set in a scene where the

Amazing book about horses and love the lost book Anna found. Also one of my favourite books I have read this year.

A truly magical book of mystery & wonder

Great book my daughter insisted I read it would definitely recommend

This book made me think about hope, "I wrestled frantically with my backpack, yanking it open to pull out the apple, but it was useless. She was got already - galloping off across the mudflats, her tail held up high like a banner behind her, great splashes of seawater flinging up beneath her Bally as she thundered across the mud" (sorry it's a bit long)The writer is trying to teach us about hope because you never give up on family or friends. She is trying to encourage us to not give up on hope
